What do you do if your web traffic has flatlined?

AI has forever changed the landscape of search. Most companies’ marketing efforts are not built for this new environment. If you want to get ahead of your competition, here are the most important changes you need to make NOW.

Check Your NAP Listings
Name
Address
Phone Number

This is an obvious first step but overlooked by many businesses – truly. Incorrect or inconsistent NAP information across browsers, social media, your own website, especially Google My Business, will cost you more than you can possibly understand.

Make sure your company name, the physical address, and phone number matches across ALL your socials, website, and Google My Business. It only takes a few minutes to update any of your data that is incomplete or incorrect. The more important thing is that it all matches – spelling, phone number, website address, etc.

Build New Content – Consistently
Upload new content to your socials, website, and Google My Business listing. Stagnate social feeds, old website content, and no activity on your Google business listing hurts you. Quick ideas you can steal from experts and influencers… a picture of a smiling employee each week with a few fun facts about them, their role, their expertise, whatever. Restaurants put photos of their menu/food on their google profile, why not put photos of your work on your profile?

The important thing to know, now that AI is everywhere, real images and human made content is given more legitimacy by algorithms and human eyes.

Build Authority
Is your business a member of any organization? A link to your website from these organizations has, and will always contribute to the authority of your business in the eyes of search engines and now AI Search or AI Answers. This takes a little effort because you have to reach out to the organization’s IT or marketing teams to find out how to get your link on their website, but the value of this effort outweighs any inconvenience you may face.

Website Structure
The code structure of your website can help you or destroy your chances of success. This may sound dramatic but it is just a fact. The entire web is just code, and code has structure. AI reads code and expects a certain structure. Search engines read code and expect a certain structure. What do we recommend? WordPress, to put it plainly. Within that architecture, however, there also is efficient code and junk code, and knowing the difference is a longer conversation. If you have completed the prior three steps here and are ready to look at your site structure, reach out.
